No two reports are the same. Each client has to be assessed on an individual basis.
The psychiatric report should include the patient’s background.
This includes the psychiatrist taking and documenting childhood, relationship, medical and forensic history.
In most cases there is a face to face mental health examination.
The psychiatrist also goes through in detail the patient’s medical and legal notes.
The psychiatrist will then report his findings and answer the questions according to what the legal team asked to be addressed.
Giving his independent medical opinion.
The report must also contain a signed statement by the expert that includes a statement of truth and that the expert has fulfilled his overriding duty to the court.
